"Lars Ulrich [Metallica] speaks about Marianne Faithfull" - 16 December, 2006
Aidin Vaziri of the San Francisco Chronicle recently conducted an interview with METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich about the group's first-ever collection of all its music videos, called "The Videos 1989-2004". Read on:
Q: How much persuading did it take to get Marianne Faithfull to hang upside down in the video for "The Memory Remains"?
Lars: Surprisingly, not that much. Once we did the song and had 17 glasses of wine, she was good to go. She was into doing the video. She was on "Saturday Night Live" with us. She did a bunch of TV shows in Europe. It was a lot of fun being around her, man, I'm telling you.

"Marianne Faithfull recovers from cancer,
three-month tour starts in March 2007" - 16 November, 2006
Marianne Faithfull has made such a successful recovery from breast cancer that doctors have given the go-ahead for her to resume touring commitments in spring next year.
Marianne was diagnosed with cancer at the end of September and underwent surgery in France on Wednesday 11th October. Because the disease was caught at its very earliest stages, however, no further treatment has been necessary and she is making a rapid return to full health.
Marianne was originally due to have embarked on a three month tour of Europe and North America at the start of October. These concerts are now being re-scheduled, with the opening date already confirmed for Budapest in Hungary on Monday 12th March 2007.
She says: "It has been an extraordinary experience and, in many ways, extremely positive. I didn't realise how many true friends I had. I feel so lucky and loved and thank everybody for all their good thought."

MTV Headline news - Smoky-voiced chanteuse and rock icon Marianne Faithfull, 59, has postponed a world tour after being diagnosed with breast cancer, The Associated Press reports. Faithfull's publicist said that doctors believe the cancer is in its earliest stages. The singer will reschedule the tour, which was set to begin October 7 in Paris, for 2007. "I have absolute faith and confidence in my fantastic medical team and of course I will be well again, if not better than ever," Faithfull said in a statement. "Next year's tour, I assure fans, will be one big celebration." ...

"FAITHFULL PLANS UPDATED MEMOIRS" - 27 July, 2006
Marianne Faithfull announced that she is to release an updated version of her 1994 autobiography to be titled, "Memories, Dreams and Reflections". These updated reminiscence shall include anecdotes about famous people including George Harrison and Lucian Freud, as well as new tales of herself and contemporary life.
